According to the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO), "injured workers are
much more likely to undergo successful rehabilitation and return to work if
rehabilitation is started soon after the injury," thereby significantly
reducing not only the cost of rehabilitation but also lost productivity.
Unfortunately, the GAO also found that less than 17% of injured workers are
referred to rehabilitation within seven months. Further, about 50% wait three
years before they are referred.
Even prompt physical rehabilitation is only effective if the
program is focused on the physical deficits that prevent the employees from
performing the essential functions of their job. OHS-COMPCARE provides physical
rehabilitation both in our clinical facilities and through a network of
physical rehabilitation providers so your employees receive care that is both
the best available and effective in returning your employees to work.
